Political Internship
Description:
WMUR-TV has designed a unique internship that will provide a lesson in American politics. Interns will be given the opportunity for hands-on experience leading up to, and during, the New Hampshire Primary.
Responsibilities:
The hard work and ideas of our interns will play an important role in our coverage of presidential candidates. The work that will be done at the television station may not be glamorous. It will often include, but will not be limited to, researching information on each presidential candidate, researching information on campaign issues and researching historical information about the NH Primary itself. It will also include writing biographical and issue related blurbs for our website. Interns will also be expected to assist in communicating with the campaigns.
Requirements:
An ideal candidate for this internship would be a person who is excited by the American political process and who is a self-starter. We will give the person selected guidance in their duties, but they will be expected to work independently.
Experience:
We would like interns to work a minimum of 16 hours a week. Those hours can be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8am and 8pm. We are seeking interns for the fall and winter semesters. Ideally, the person selected for the fall term would stay through the month of January to include the NH Primary.
