Job Description: Weather storyteller for a Hearst television station. Severe weather experience preferred.
Responsibilities:

• Engage viewers as weather anchor
• Fill in on other shows as needed
• Be able to write and edit accurate, concise, compelling copy
• Communicate with assignment desk about weather stories
• Communicate with reporters and photographers about weather story development
• Use social media to keep viewers informed of weather events
• Post to the web, mobile and social media using station guidelines
• Produce special weather reports
• Respond to breaking severe weather and live shot opportunities
• Participate in community events as station representative
Requirements:
Qualifications Requirements:
• Must be a go to person in current newsroom
• Weather anchoring experience preferred
• Working knowledge of ENPS, WSI, and VIPIR a plus
• Adobe Premier Non linear editing experience a plus
• Live shot expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
