Description:
WMUR.com has created a unique internship for students interested in digital media. This is a hands-on internship working side-by-side with our WMUR.com team. Students will be introduced to everything from the “morning meeting” to how to write a web story to how social networking is used in a newsroom.
This is an opportunity to see how one of the region's most highly trafficked news websites functions during the news day, and students will leave with a true understanding of what it's like to work during breaking news.
Responsibilities:
Students will:
-Help build interactive pages
-Create engaging slideshows
-Work with user generated content
-Send out news alerts
-Post images, video and livestreams sent from News 9 reporters in the field
-View web metrics and understand what drives web traffic
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS preferred but not required.
Experience:
Students must have experience writing for news (Web, TV, or print).
